Habitat Network Team Lead Training - The Nature Conservancy

Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Interested in citizen science? The Nature Conservancy is recruiting a team of volunteers to map their nearby preserves and local conservation projects. Attend this training to get involved. RSVP required.

Habitat Network is a citizen science project designed to cultivate a richer understanding of wildlife habitat for both professional scientists and people concerned with their local environments. Data is being collected by volunteers who draw maps of their backyards, parks, farms, favorite birding locations, schools, and gardens. The Nature Conservancy in Washington has a goal of using this resource to map all of our preserves, all of our City Habitat partner projects, and as many yards, schools, and neighborhood parks as possible in 2018. To achieve this goal we are recruiting a team of volunteers to take personal responsibility for mapping their nearby preserve and local urban conservation projects.

If you live near or steward one of our preserves, or live in Seattle or Tacoma, this is a great project you can take on that is flexible with your schedule and will inform conservation and urban planning decisions in years to come.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project please email wavolunteer@tnc.org with a message that highlights any special skills/experience, and what city/neighborhood you would like to volunteer in.
